Frances B. Garcia went to her heavenly home on February 19, 2018, with her loving family surrounding her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Rotan followed by burial at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.
Frances Balerio Garcia was born September 19, 1927, to Pedro Balerio and Maria Olivares Balerio. She married the love of her life, Floyd Garcia, on August 23, 1947, at the First Baptist Church of Rotan. Family was the most important thing in her life. Frances loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Frances was a strong Christian and lived by her Christian Faith. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church; however, she attended many services at First Baptist Church.
Frances was a loving, caring, and compassionate person. She loved everyone she came in contact with. She was a grandma to many. Frances loved to quilt and crochet. She made many quilts, and when complete, she would give them away to family and friends. She loved to share her talents with others.
She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and feeding everyone that came to her home whether hungry or not. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her favorite message to everyone was, “It is no secret what God can do. What He did for others he’ll do for you”.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Balerio, her husband of 52 years, Floyd Garcia; her brothers, Manuel Balerio and Nieves Balerio; her sisters, Jesusa (Susie) Morales, Sofia Silva, and Olga Gonzalez; granddaughter, Rachael Garcia; and grandson, Matthew Garcia.
She is survived by her sons, Floyd Garcia Jr., Pete Garcia and wife Margaret, Frank Garcia and his wife Trudy, Manuel Garcia and his wife Veronica; David Carter, and James and Darlene Carter; grandchildren Pete Garcia, Jr., Clinton Garcia, Hollye Garcia, Crystal Garcia, Michael Carrisalez; Rudy Mendoza and wife, Teresa; Zach Mendoza and wife, Sandra; great grandchildren Dustin Garcia, Bailey Garcia, Reagan Perez, Briana Carrisalez, Fabian Carrisalez, Luis Carrisalez, Ava Mendoza, Kaniel Mendoza, Andrea Mendoza, Victoria and David Kava, Emmanuel Kava, Christopher Mendoza, Michaela Mendoza, Isabella Mendoza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
