Alfred was born September 27, 1934 in Clay County, West Virginia to the late William E. and Flora (Walker) Morris. Alfred proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years prior to retirement. He was a jet engine mechanic and employed these vital skills at Tan Son Nhut Air Base during the Vietnam War as well as serving stateside at MacDill AFB, Sheppard AFB, Plattsburg AFB and Dyess AFB. Temporary duty locations included Japan, Germany, Africa, Taiwan and the Phillipines. While stationed at Sheppard AFB, Alfred met the love of his life, Olivia Hinojosa, at Piccadilly's Cafeteria. That fortunate meeting led to a 53 year union that began October 18, 1958 in Wichita Falls. Alfred and Olivia's relationship was marked by mutual respect, enjoyment and abiding commitment. They had three children: Jose, Bill and Marisa. Alfred and Olivia also raised their granddaughter, Yvette.
One of Alfred's passions was to camp and fish. The outdoors were a place of recreation that produced many precious memories. His family will long remember the smell of smoke that created a craving for delicious barbeque. They will also be quick to let you know that his grilling never disappointed. At the grill, Boots and Duke, Alfred's cherished dogs, were never far away, hoping for a treat when no one was looking. Alfred was rarely not found without a Louis L'amour novel at the end of the day.
Alfred was a member of FBC Rotan and maintained his confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. His faith became sight when he passed from this life into the waiting arms of his Savior on May 18, 2020 surrounded by his devoted family.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother - Hattie Morris, brothers - Jim Bill and Charles Morris, sister - Helen White, brother-in-law - Paul Naylor, granddaughter - Reesa Michelle Morris and beloved wife - Olivia.
