Allan Eugene Terry age 86, of Roby, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021. Visitation will be at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Sunday September 5 from 4-5 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 6, at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church in Roby with Pastor Brandon Carreon and Pastor Jerry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery.
Gene was born July 9, 1935, in Fisher County to Pink Thurman Terry and Dorothy Rollans Terry. He grew up in Roby and graduated from Roby High School in 1953. There he met the love of his life Jacqueline Ann Bishop and they married in 1956. He worked in the oilfield for several years before he began farming and ranching. He was involved in the young farmers, was a member of the Fisher County Rodeo committee for many years and was a county commissioner from 1991-2010.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Dorothy Terry, and one brother Bob Terry.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Jackie Terry of Roby, two daughters Genia Arnwine (Allan), Cheryl Callan (Randy), and one son Tony Terry (Kathy) all of Roby. Eight grandkids Carissa Adkins (Todd) of Jarrell, Sandy Mayes (Matthew) of Coleman, Kayla Graves (Zane) of Sweetwater, Chad Arnwine (Vanessa) of Snyder, James Arnwine (Shella) of Sweetwater, Chelsey McCall (Mark) of Rotan, Cameron Callan (Jaci) of Rotan, Tyson Terry (Paige) of Rotan, Cecille Faglie (Neal) of Roby, Logan Spurgeon (Marcus) of Roby, and 22 great grandchildren with one on the way. Gene is also survived by one brother, Veron Terry, one sister-in law, Wynell Terry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
