Baxter Daniel

ROTAN- Baxter "Toad" Allon Daniel, age 79, died peacefully at Fisher County Hospital on Monday, March 30, 2015. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M, Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Crossroads Baptist Church with Mr. Mickey Early officiating. Burial will follow at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan. The Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Toad was born March 19, 1936, in Fisher County, Texas, the son of Hubert Preston Daniel and Elsie Ardina Long. Toad, the 6th child of 13, spent his early years in Roby, TX.
Toad started working on the farm chopping cotton and pulling cotton bolls at a very young age, then plowing farm land. With not much time for school, he was always a good provider for his family. He started working for National Gypsum at the age of 18, and worked his way up to managing the shop and mechanics. Toad loved spending time with his large family, working on lawn mowers, following Grandchildren to all their activities, playing pool, and watching all Yellowhammer sporting events.
Toad leaves his wife of 59 years, Loretta Bilbo Daniel of Rotan; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Hull of Rotan; his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Tina Daniel of Rotan; his grandchildren, Traci Heflin and husband, Kenny, of Snyder, Michael Hull of Abilene, Kevin Daniel and wife, Stevie, of Rotan, and Whitney Helms, daughter of Squatty and Ella Raye Helms of Snyder; his great-grandsons, Luke Hull of Abilene, and Jason and Tripp Daniel of Rotan; his brothers, Sherman Daniel and wife, Shirley, of Rotan, Calvin (Buggar) Daniel and wife, Ida, of Sweetwater, and Vernon Daniel and wife, Jo Ann, of Vero Beach, FL; his sisters, Linda Simmons of Rotan, and Gaylon Freeman of Rotan; his brothers-in-law, Calvin Neves of Roby, Joe Trayhan of Rotan, Kenneth Bilbo and his wife, Becky, of Christoval, and Eddie Bilbo of DeKalb; and his sisters-in-law, Carla Sager of Sweetwater, and Pat Bilbo of Sweetwater.
Toad was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elsie Daniel; his brothers, Carnie Daniel and wife, Mary, Donnie Daniel, and Larry Daniel; his sisters, Yvonne Hicks and husband, Nolan, Daphene Early-Trayhan, Veleta Daniel, and Juanita Neves; his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Bilbo and Donald Bilbo; his sister-in-law, Linda Bilbo; and parents-in-law, Weldon and Nona Mae Bilbo.
His nephews will serve as his pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Crossroads Baptist Church in Rotan, Texas.
