B.B. Mckinney

B.B. McKinney was born January 1, 1939 to Henry Clyde and Clara Samuel Gable McKinney in a home near Pleasant Valley in Fisher County. He started school at Pleasant Valley in 1945 and transferred to Rotan Public School in 1948 when the two schools consolidated. While attending Rotan High School he worked at the Forrest Miller Gin during the fall for three years, and drove the school bus for two years. B.B. joined the Army in 1961, wanting to go overseas, but he never got out of Oklahoma, and received an honorable discharge in 1963. In the Army you had to have a name, not just initials, so B.B. was known as Bonly Bonly in the Army. He married June Hardin in 1962. They had one daughter Beverly. B.B. went to work for BettsBall and Stovell Oil Company before his discharge from the Army. His dad always rode along with him, as well as Beverly when it came time to pump wells.
He married Bobbie Polk, December 12, 1974 and gained a son Shannon Strickland. Shannon and Beverly were in the fifth grade together. B.B. worked pumping wells for several oil companies before retiring in 1999. He also farmed from 19631999 and ranched from 19632012.
B.B. is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clara McKinney and three brothers, Scott, Joe, and Austin McKinney.
B.B. is survived by his wife Bobbie McKinney of Rotan his brother and sisterinlaw, Murl and Francene McKinney of Rotan his daughter and soninlaw, Beverly and Johnny Price, their five children, Scott McKinney and his wife Emily, Jesse, Krystle, Jessica, and Kimberly Price his son and daughter inlaw, Shannon and Glenda Strickland and their children, Chance Strickland and his wife Briana and Morgan Strickland twoanda half greatgrandchildren, Thomas McKinney, Addison Strickland and oneontheway.
