Beatrice Garza

Sylvester – Beatrice Russell Garza , 91, of Sylvester, passed away Tuesday morning in hospice care.  Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Santiago officiating.  Burial will follow in the El Ranchito Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home of Rotan.

Mrs. Garza was born in Benson, Arizona to Frank J. and Maria C. Russell on March 30, 1930.  She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family, sewing, crocheting and fishing.

Mrs. Garza is survived by her four daughters, Norma Faglie, Maria Ortiz, Susie Silva and Margie Vera; a son, Joe Garza; three sisters, Paula, Bertha and Lupe; grandchildren, Frances Fierro, Richard Cook, Jewell Cook, Laura Grussendorf, Melissa Soliz, Charlie Yanez, Melanie Faglie, Neal Faglie and Chris Yanez; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Epifanio (Papa Joe) Garza; one brother, Anselmo; one sister, Antonia.

A Rosary will be held for Beatrice at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.
