Bertha Johnson

Born December 1, 1949, in Kaufman, Texas, Bertha was the daughter of Freddy J. and Katherine (George) Johnson. She married Calvin Johnson, Jr., and the couple moved to Rotan in 1971, where Bertha worked as a Medication Assistant at Fisher County Hospital for thirty-eight years. She also sold insurance for three and a half years, and was a top salesman for three of those years. She was a member of Union Chapel Church in Rochester, and enjoyed following several TV ministers, including her favorite, Joel Osteen. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking, and fixing things. Above all, Bertha loved taking care of her family, and spending time with them.
Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Johnson, Jr.; her parents, Freddy and Katherine Johnson; and her brother, Clemmie Roger Nicholson.
She is survived by four children, Connell Wickware-Johnson and wife, Lisa, of Dallas, Marcia Ann Wickware-Johnson of Merkel, Terri Lynn Johnson Amos and husband, Brian Keith Amos, Sr., of Rochester, and Clemmie Ray Wickware-Johnson of Huntsville; seven children-grandchildren, Joshua Cody Johnson and fiancée, Krissy Gentry, of Rotan, Bertha Ann Johnson and fiancée, Connor Taylor Brown, of Rotan, Jeremy Rashad Carrington Newman Johnson of Dallas, Dorothy Johnson Kelly and husband, Brandtly Jerry Kelly, of Stephenville, Angela Renea Johnson and fiancé, Michael Moreno, of San Antonio, Calvin Sunny Johnson of Rotan, and Charlie Lynn Johnson of Rotan; four grandchildren, Catherine LaShay Vasquez and husband, Michael, Brian Keith "B.J." Amos, Jr., Brittany L-Bria Amos, and Ty-Reonia Amos; five great-grandchildren, Dominic Xavier Vasquez, Mia Faith Carrington Newman, Aasiyah Sonyai Johnson, Heaven Nevae Johnson, and Tyreke Evan Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
