Bob was a son of the late Edith Johnson and Gordon Lee Hamilton. Bob was a lifelong resident of Jayton and served in the U.S. Navy from 19521954. He married Patricia Jan Fowler in Jayton on November 27, 1952. He was the owner of two businesses in town, the Thos. Fowler Agency and the Kent County Lumber Supply. In 1992 Bob was elected VicePresident of the Kent County State Bank in Jayton. Bob was a very active member of the community serving as Kent County Commissioner Precinct 1 from 19932000, Honorary Member of the Jayton Band Boosters, and received the 1993 Quarter Century Award for dedicated Service to the Jayton Jaybird Band for thirtyfive years, a member and former President of the Jayton Lions Club, and received an award as Lion of the year in 19871988, he also received the Kent County Community Service Volunteer award in 2002, and was CEO and President of the Kent County State Bank from 20002005. Bob was a very committed member of the First Baptist Church in Jayton serving as music minister for over fifty years. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant son Keith Anthony Hamilton.
Bob is survived by his wife Patricia J. Hamilton of Jayton two daughters and sonsinlaw, Bobette Hamilton Hettich and her husband Phillip L. Hettich, Jr. of Abilene and Brigette Hamilton Hubert and her husband John W. Hubert of Rio Rancho, NM two grandsons, Colter L. Hettich of New York City, NY and Hunter L. Hettich and his wife Kayla of Abilene his brother G.L. Hamilton, Jr. and his wife Donna of Jayton and his sister, LaJuana Ross and her husband Richard of Fort Worth, TX.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to either the First Baptist Church of Jayton PO Box 186 Jayton, TX 79528 or Hendrick Hospice Care 1682 Hickory Abilene, TX 79601.
