Bobby “Bob” Earl Terry, 83, passed away Friday December 27, 2019, in a Sweetwater hospital. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 31, 2019, at Roby Cemetery followed by an 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Roby First Baptist Church under the care of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Bob was born August 20, 1936, to Pink Thurman Terry and Dorothy Murll (Rollans) Terry at their home in Fisher County. He married Wynelle Hull March 28, 1959, at Roby where they lived and raised their family.
Bob was a very enthusiastic man with his family, hobbies and friends; it was “all in or nothing” for him. He taught his children how to work and have fun. A lot of their time was spent restoring antique cars, taking trips in those cars with everyone driving their own in a caravan, building BBQ pits and hunting. Bob had many careers in his life including farming, ranching and doing dirt work but he was most passionate about crop dusting and flying his airplanes, where he discovered a fondness for the red light in downtown Roby. He was also an avid local history buff and was quick to rewrite history from his point of view. He took special pride in the Terry Texas Rangers. Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church and past member of the Roby Fire Department and Lion’s Club.
Bob is survived by his wife, Wynelle Terry; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert Dale and Tanya Terry of Roby, Kenneth Murll Terry and Susan of Sweetwater, James Wesley Terry of Roby, and Clifton Earl Terry and Karla of Andrews; two brothers, Gene Terry and wife Jackie, and Vernon Terry; nine grandchildren, Wesley Terry, Skyler Terry, Brock Terry, Kyle Terry, Chelsea Terry, Luke Terry, Aubrie Terry, Justin Terry, and Matthew Aceves; and five great-grandchildren, Arya Terry, Blaise Terry, Belle Terry, Attie Jo Terry, and Ryder Terry.
