On August 5, 2018, our Lord Jesus Christ called home one of his own, Carolyn Van Loon-Foster or Mia as she liked to be called by her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30am, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Rotan Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. Visitation is set for Friday, August 10, 2018, from 6pm until 8pm at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Carolyn was born May 8, 1954 in Rotan to J.E. and Joyce Van Loon. The youngest of three children, Carolyn was full of life and always saw the best in everyone. She will be remembered for her caring nature and always positive outlook on life; even in her last years when her health had deteriorated. Carolyn attended the Rotan Church of Christ with her parents and siblings, where she fell in love with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived most of her life in Rotan and loved the people and the community. Carolyn loved her family deeply and had a caring soul and that was evident in her choice of careers. Carolyn was a licensed vocational nurse for 25 years; her passion and heart was working with patients in the nursing homes where her caring nature was able to flourish. Even after her health made it difficult to continue working her caring nature continued by being able to care for her mother full time; this allowed Carolyn and her mother to spend even more time together. She was proud of the fact that she was able to give her mother the opportunity to remain at home for several more years. Carolyn loved her two dogs, Sissy and Tipper, and was a devout fan of Days of Our Lives; she never missed an episode.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her daddy, J. E. Van Loon; her brother, Howard Van Loon; nephew, Jason Van Loon; as well as numerous family members, friends, and countless patients she loved and cared for during her time as a nurse.
Carolyn is survived by her mother, Joyce Marie Van Loon; her sons, Dustin Rogers and wife Mallory, Kris Rogers and wife Michelle, and Jessie Foster; her six grandchildren, Noah Foster, Alannah Rogers, Hayleigh Alexander, Hayden Foster, Zack Alexander and last but not least Hudson Rogers; her brother, Larry Van Loon and Holly; her nieces, Misty, Jessica and Kim(with whom Carolyn had a special bond); her nephews, Shane and Casey Van Loon and many friends and family members that will miss her dearly.
