Charles Dodd

Charles Curtis Dodd passed away on Saturday December 5, 2020 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM in Belvieu Cemetery. Directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Charles was born on June 9, 1946 in Rotan, Texas to Curtis and Frankie Dodd. He graduated from Hamlin High School in 1964. He joined the army and proudly served his country for eight years, which included four years in Vietnam.

After meeting and marrying the love of his life, Alice Faye (Keel) Dodd in 1973, Charles spent the next fourteen years in the grocery store industry working as produce manager for chains including, Safeway, Furrs, and Super Duper. In 1997, Charles completed his associate degree in computer technology and opened his own business, Mustang Computer Service. In his spare time, Charles loved building computers, working on classis cars, riding his Harley Davidson, and fishing.

Charles is preceded to death by his father, Curtis Dodd; his mother, Frankie Dodd; and his wife, Alice Keel Dodd.

He is survived by his children, Michelle Lashley of Colorado City, Christine Cheryl Arnold of Odessa, and Charles Curtis Jr of Rotan; his only sister, Peggy Shields of Tuscola; his nephews, Jeff and Mark Shields; Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
