Chrys Bennett

Born March 10, 1948 in Rotan, Chrys was a daughter of the late Harold Rector and Doris Weeks Rector. Chrys was a lifelong resident of Rotan and graduated with the high school class of 1966. She married Marshal Bennett on December 10, 1966 in Rotan. Chrys lived outside Rotan briefly in Sweetwater and New Mexico. She was a homemaker, insurance agent, and was the food service manager for Fisher County Hospital. Chrys was a devoted wife, mother, but especially enjoyed her title as grandmother to her two grandsons. She loved to cook and bake and took pride in her home, always keeping it spotless. Chrys was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Rotan Volunteer Fire Department and First Baptist Church of Rotan. She is preceded in death by her father Harold Rector and her grandparents.

Chrys is survived by her husband of fortysix years, Marshal Bennett of Rotan two daughters and a soninlaw, Shanna Bennett of Rotan and Amy and Jamey Garland of Rotan her mother, Doris Rector of Yorktown, TX two brothers and sistersinlaw, Sonny and Betsy Rector of Rockwall and Rodger and Becky Rector of Ingleside on the Bay, TX one sister, Robin Jenkins of Ingleside, TX two very special grandsons, Levi and Bode Garland of Rotan a brotherinlaw, Clois Bennett a sisterinlaw, Nancy Counts and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family has requested donations may be made to Hendrick Hospice 1682 Hickory st. Abilene, TX 79601. .
