Darmon was a son of the late Moman Dale and Delia Goggins Bratton. Darmon served in the Navy during WWII and was stationed in San Diego, CA. He lived in Brady, TX where he met Mynye Belle Williamson. They were married in Brownwood, TX on July 10, 1943. Darmon managed variety stores, Perry Brothers in Brady, TX and Winns variety store in Rotan. He later went to work for National Gypsum in Rotan until he retired. Darmon enjoyed raising horses and livestock, watching rodeos, listening to western swing and gospel music and watching Texas Rangers play baseball. He was a member of the Fisher County Sherriffs Posse and a very active member of the Church of Christ in Rotan. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, five sisters, and one grandson David Cody Hicks.
Darmon is survived by his son and daughterinlaw, Steven Dale and Diana Bratton of Phlugersville, TX his daughter Brenda Hicks and her fianc Horatio LeBleu, Jr of Rotan his grandson Michael Lane Hicks and his wife Kelli two greatgrandchildren, Devin Taylor McQueen and Colin Blaine Weaver Hicks and two nieces, Doris Hudnall and Darlene Burton. .
