David Cummings

April 18, 1950 — May 12, 2015

David was the son of Roy Wesley and Norma Gene (Bailey) Cummings. After graduating from high school, he served in the Air Force for four years during the Vietnam war. On January 31, 1973, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Turnbow, at Calvary Baptist Church in Rotan, Texas. After working at the Rotan Gyp Mill for 18 years, David entered the ministry, serving as an evangelist before pastoring Churches of God in Murphy, Oklahoma; Anadarko, Oklahoma; and Altus, Oklahoma. In his spare time, David enjoyed collecting bibles, playing golf, bird hunting, fishing, and woodworking. A devout Christian, David had a personal relationship with the Lord, and loved being able to preach and sing.
David is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Cummings of Hollis, Oklahoma; his daughter, Lynn Clark and husband, David, of Walters, Oklahoma; his sister, Carole Green and husband, Bob, of Rotan; his grandchildren, Caleb and Candace Clark of Walters, Oklahoma; his aunt, Geraldean Parker of Snyder; and numerous beloved friends.
