David Rodriguez

David Rodriguez passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in Rotan, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Rotan with Burial to follow in Belvieu Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

David was born on June 21, 1952, in Rotan, to Isaias and Alicia (Cantu) Rodriguez. He graduated from Rotan High School and later worked at car auctions, and Walmart in Sweetwater and Snyder.

David loved his family and his friends. He enjoyed meeting people and traveling. David especially liked going to the Rattlesnake Roundup, and the State Fair. His daddy was his best friend. They spent countless hours watching the Dallas Cowboys and westerns. He was proud to be a native American. David was a devoted Christian man and was a faithful member of the Emanuel Baptist Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Isaias Rodriquez, and sister, Elsa Yanez.

He is survived by his mother, Alicia Rodriguez; sisters, Enedina (Adolfo) Medrano, Vera (Roman) Garcia, and Rebecca (Richard) Diaz; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. David will be dearly missed.
