Dee Dycus, 41, of Rotan passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in Rotan. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm, Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Rotan Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. Visitation is set for Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home, from 6pm-7pm.
Dee Edward Dycus was born August 15, 1976, in Rotan, to his parents Jerry Dee and Candy Lee (White) Dycus. Dee was a graduate of Rotan High School and a member of the Rotan Church of Christ. His son, Kaden, was the love of his life; they did everything they could together. Dee served as a troop leader for the boy scouts. His true passion was being a fireman. Dee was a member of the Rotan Volunteer Fire Department. He was currently a Captain; but has held the offices of President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. Dee was honored by his department as the 2017 Fireman of the Year. Officially, Dee has been with the fire department since 2008; however, he has been involved with them his entire life. He was also an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dee was a loving father, son, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Dee was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Dycus; and both sets of grandparents, Hubert and Treasa Dycus and Arvin and Jo Bill White.
Dee is survived by his son, Kaden Hunter Dycus; his mother, Candy Dycus; his sister, Mandy Baglin and husband Michael; and his nephews, Bryce and Blake Campbell.
