Dick Hart

ROTAN DICK HART, 81, died Wednesday February 15, 2012 at Stonewall Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday February 17, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Aspermont under the ion of WeathersbeeRay Funeral Home.

Born January 4, 1931 in the Johnson Chapel Community in Stonewall County, Dick was a son of the late Thomas Lawson and Lena Mae Hight Hart. Dick ranched for the Cave brothers from 19491952. He attended John Tarleton College before being drafted into the Marines in February of 1952 during the Korean War. He was stationed in California for two years. He married Elizabeth Ann Gardner in his parent39s house on August 20, 1954. In 1955 Dick worked for the Cogdell family ranch in Snyder and later worked for the Fuller Ranch for thirty years. Dick moved to the Double Mountains where he continued ranching. Dick enjoyed friends and family and the way of life he chose to live. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aspermont. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Doyle Hart.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Hart a daughter and soninlaw, Jodie and Ralph Riddel of Rotan a brother and sisterinlaw, Pete and Carol Hart of Abilene three grandchildren, Ruth Ann Riddel, Ralph Riddel, III and Sallie Myers and her husband Justin.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Aspermont P.O. Box 370 Aspermont, TX 79502. .
