Dorothy Jean Soliz, age 83, of Loraine, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 26, 2018, in Colorado City.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Hobbs Cemetery. The services are under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Dorothy Jean Soliz was born January 3, 1935, in Fisher County, to Lina Bell Shanks.
Dorothy and Martin Soliz married July 10, 1950, in Seymour, TX. Dorothy and Martin owned and operated Martin Grocery Store and Dorothy's Beauty Shop in Rotan. She retired from Rotan ISD as a secretary.
She was a loving mother, sister, Aunt Dot, and a great Bum Bum for all her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna K. Soliz Givens, and husband, Mike Givens, of Loraine, TX; one sister, Nelda, of Midland, TX; her grandchildren, Deana Overton of Colorado City, TX, Martin Dee Givens of Highlands, TX, Bryan Soliz of Casper, WY, and Brandi Soliz Danniger of Wausau, WI; and eleven great-grandkids.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Roy and Lina Bell McIntosh; her husband, Martin Soliz; son James Soliz; second husband, Paul Angleton; one sister, Connie May Falls; and one brother, Roy McIntosh.
A special thank you to granddaughter-in-law, Sheryl Givens, grandson-in-law, Roy Overton, Peggy Campbell, husband, Jimmy Campbell of Abilene, caregiver, Sara Deleon, Mitchel County Nursing Home Staff.
Pallbearers are nephews, Dale Roa, Roland Herrera, and Ronnie McIntosh; and friends of the family, Ronnie Green, Louis Davila, and Clay Wilfong.
