Dorothy Tolan

Dorothy Jim Mize Tolan passed away January 23, 2019. In Rotan she was known by "Cootsie," the nickname given to her by her dad. Outside of Rotan she was known by her middle name, "Jim". Dorothy grew up in Rotan and her heart was always there. A lifelong fan of the Yellow Hammers, she spoke fondly of wandering the canyons and climbing the Double Mountains as a girl. Later in life, she would always say that she was "tough" because she was from West Texas. She was born June 16, 1927 in Rotan, and was the daughter of Henderson Floyd Mize and Claudia Jane Palmer Mize. Dorothy married JC Tolan and had three children, Bobby Jay Tolan, Vickie Annette Tolan Reasor, and Danny Lynn Tolan. She is survived by her children and her grandchildren: Erin Tolan, Christopher Reasor, Kari Reasor, Laura Tolan, and Leah Tolan. The youngest of 13 children, Dorothy loved a large extended family of relations and friends.
