Rotan-Fernanda (Quintanilla) Soliz, passed away, March 24, 2021, in Abilene. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Rosary will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery, under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born May 30, 1931, in Stamford, Fernanda was the daughter of the late Francisco and Ynosente (Mendez) Quintanilla. She married the love of her life Alfonso Soliz on November 9, 1947. Fernanda worked as a caregiver in the medical field for many years. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her roses. Fernanda loved cooking and caring for her whole family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Survivors included her children, John Frank (Emma) Soliz, Tony (Janie) Soliz, Henry (Mary) Soliz, Enedina (Albino) Soliz, Angie Soliz, Mary Ann Castillo (Juan), Connie Zeledon, Margie Moreno, Jennifer Hatchell, Steve Deleon, Tiffiany (Jay) Kleiner, Gabiel (Angeliqua) Deleon, Danaka Moreno, Angelique Moreno, Fermin Moreno, Jackie Moreno, and Christopher Moreno; one brother Veto Quintanilla (Eloise); one sister, Lily Hernandez (Jose); nineteen grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
