Floyd Garcia Jr., beloved son, brother, uncle, educator, and entrepreneur, passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on August 1, 1948, in Rotan, TX Floyd's life was an extraordinary journey marked by adventure, service, and creativity. He was an alumni at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, as well as Tech University in Lubbock, TX and spent time in Mexico City furthering his education.
Floyd's career in the airline industry allowed him to travel the globe while experiencing diverse cultures and embracing the beauty of our world. His passion for exploration was matched only by his dedication to education. He shared his knowledge and wisdom for over three decades which positively influenced countless lives.
An entrepreneurial spirit, Floyd owned and operated "Garcia's House of Flowers," a charming flower shop, along with "Garcia's Sweet Temptations," a delightful bakery, leaving a sweet legacy in his community. He was the true definition of versatility. Floyd lent his musical talents as a pianist and vocalist at both somber and joyous occasions, where his heartfelt performances touched many hearts.
Throughout his life, Floyd's warmth and kindness endeared him to all who knew him. He was dedicated to his family and those whom he loved as though they were family. Surviving him are his loving brothers, David Carter, Frank and wife Trudy of Snyder, Manuel and wife Veronica of Snyder. His memory will also be cherished by his nieces and nephews, Clinton Garcia and Raela of Big Spring, Pete Garcia Jr and Michael of Abilene, Crystal Garcia of San Antonio, and Hollye Garcia and Melissa of Ft. Worth. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Garcia Sr and Frances Garcia of Rotan, brother Pete Garcia Sr. of Rotan, niece Rachel Garcia of Snyder, and nephew Matthew Garcia of Rotan, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Though Floyd Garcia Jr. has departed this world, his spirit of adventure, love, and creativity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his remarkable life and the indelible mark he left on the world.
