Frances Upshaw

Frances Upshaw left this temporary home on May 20, 2017, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Rotan. Burial will follow in Belvieu cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 22, 2017, from 6pm until 7pm, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Frances Janet Upshaw was born October 24, 1936, in Rotan, TX, the oldest of three daughters of the late E.H. "Heck" Robertson and Gussie (O'Neal) Robertson of Roby, TX. Frances married the love of her life, Ernest Garland Upshaw, at the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, on February 26, 1953. Garland and Frances were longtime residents north of Rotan where they enjoyed the life of ranching, farming, and the trucking industry. Frances solely managed their trucking company and ranching business later in life including dispatching at her office in Rotan where she was loved by all. Frances was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rotan.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Upshaw; her parents, Heck and Gussie Robertson of Roby, TX; and one sister and brother-in-law, C.E. (Jiggs) and Sharron Chadwick of Abilene,TX.
Frances is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Clay Wilfong of Rotan, TX and Peggy and Brad Rivers of Jayton, TX; one granddaughter and husband Jennifer and Brandon Carroll of Littlefield, TX; two great-grandsons, Blake and Luke Riley; a sister, Lana Brafford of Argyle, TX; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two very special friends Manual and Susie Trujillo of Rotan, TX.
