Garland Floyd

Garland (Soapy) Floyd, 87, passed away September 10, 2018, in Sweetwater, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan, Texas. Burial will be in the Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. A visitation is scheduled on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 form 5-6 pm at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.

Soapy was born August 26, 1931 to Homer and Vera Mae Floyd. He entered the service in 1951 and proudly served until 1953 in Korea.

On June 27, 1953 he married the love of his life, Bonnie Louise, they had one son, Larry Wallace Floyd, and they built a beautiful life together. Soapy and Bonnie were married for 65 years.

Soapy was preceded in death by his parents, his son, and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and several nieces and nephews.
