Born December 9, 1936, at the family home in Rotan, Glen was the son of Truett and Mary Edith Boree Strickland. He graduated from Rotan High School in the class of 1955, and attended HardinSimmons University, and Draughns Business School. On August 24, 1956, he married the love of his life, Betty Louise Parmelly, in Tye, Texas. After a short time in Fort Worth, the couple moved back to Rotan, where Glen began a career as a cotton farmer and rancher. Glen was a hard worker, who loved raising and taking care of his animals. In his spare time, he traveled with Betty all over the United States. He was an avid reader, who read anything he could get his hands on. Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rotan. Above all, Glen enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Glen is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Betty Strickland his parents, Truett and Edith Stickland and two brothers, Harvey Strickland and Ted Strickland.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Nowlin and husband, Stuart, of Rotan, and Jamie Strickland of Possum Kingdom Lake one brother, Gary Strickland and wife, Melissa, of Tye one sister, Charlene Graham of Lubbock two granddaughters, Tara Nowlin and Paige Nowlin Terry Tyson one greatgranddaughter, Betsy Louise Terry his beloved dog, Sassy and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
