Gregory Gallagher

Gregory Scott Gallaher, 54 of Sachse, Texas, went to be with his Heavenly Father the week of April 20, 2018. Greg was born on June 16, 1963, in Ft. Worth, Texas. At two weeks of age, Greg was adopted by Bill and Doris Gallagher who lived in Monahans, Texas at the time. When he was two years old, the Gallaghers moved to Midland. Greg gave his life to Christ when he was eleven years old during a revival service at Crestview Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. He enjoyed growing up in Midland where he was involved in football, Little League baseball and Boy Scouts. He graduated from Lee High School in 1981 and was an avid member of the Lee High School band. In 1986, Greg graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a degree in Petroleum Land Management. He began his career with State Farm Insurance as a claims adjuster in 1987. Greg served State Farm faithfully for thirty years in Los Angeles, Houston, and Dallas. His State Farm co-workers became his dearest friends, including, Vicki Jackson, Scott Liska, Janet Puffer, Lynn McClain, and Bill Summers, to name just a few. Greg loved to make people laugh, loved his dogs - Yogi and TR, and was a wonderful son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Doris Gallagher.
Greg is survived by his sister, Julie Johnson (Gallagher), her husband Bill, and their children, his nieces and nephew, Karis Johnson, Kristen Johnson and Kyle Johnson of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by many cousins and relatives, all of whom loved him dearly.
Because God holds kids that need to be adopted near to His heart, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to Addy's Hope, an adoption ministry serving the Permian Basin and Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

The funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Jayton, Texas followed by a graveside memorial at the Jayton Cemetery, where Greg will be buried next to his parents.
