Hazel Eaton, 91, passed away on December 30, 2022 in Bangs, Texas. Graveside services will be 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Roby Cemetery directed by Weathersbee-Ray funeral home. A visitation will be held at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan, Texas starting at 10:00 Wednesday morning, January 4, 2023.
Hazel was born on November 2, 1931 to Robert Lee and Willian Rachel (Owens) Williams in Graham, Texas. She attended school in Goldsmith, Texas. She married Royce Lynn Eaton on July 9, 1976. Hazel had many ventures during her life. She was a housewife, worked for the 4-H Center, University of Texas, was a DJ for Odessa Radio, a secretary for Victory Life Church in Leveland, Texas, and retired from Whataburger. Hazel was never scared to take on any chore. She could change the oil in a car or take apart an appliance and fix it. Hazel loved working in the yard and had a huge garden that helped feed her nine kids. She also loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Hazel was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Willian Williams; husbands, Royce Eaton in 2019, Delton Howard Lunceford, and Bill Wiggins; sons, Delton Howard Lunceford Jr., and Ronnie James Lunceford; grandsons, Shannon Dale Slaughter and Delton (PeeWee) Lunceford.
Hazel is survived by five daughters, Mary Anne Grimes Ramos, Susan Lee Lunceford Atkinson, Carolyn Jean Lunceford Seward, Leashia Ann Eaton Ruelas, and DeeDee Lynn Eaton Coley; two sons, Richard “Ricky” Jay Wiggins, and Richard Aubry Eaton; nineteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; and thirty-one great-great grandchildren.
