Ismael Barrera

Born June 10, 1928, in Millers View, Texas, Willie was the son of Bonifacio and Dominga Pena Barrera. He married the love of his life, Susie Medrano, on January 6, 1951, at Saint Josephs Catholic Church in Rotan. Willie worked for National Gypsum as a heavy equipment operator for 44 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars. Willie also loved driving the back roads of Fisher County with his grandchildren, telling them stories as he drove. A lifelong resident of Fisher County, he was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents his son, Louis Barrera three brothers and six sisters.
Willie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Susie Barrera one daughter, Mary Angelica Soliz and her husband, Henry, of Abilene one sister, Zenida Luna of Abilene three grandchildren, Steven Barrera and wife, Sarah, of Rotan, Felecia Soliz of Abilene, and Ethan Soliz and wife, Ashley, of Abilene eight greatgrandchildren, Stevie Barrera, Brittnie Barrera, Joel Barrera, Mia Ramirez, Samara Soliz, Kayden Sterling, Grace Bearden, and Ryder Bearden one greatgreatgrandson, Logan Barrera and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
