Jackie Carol Hardin Freeman passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, in Sweetwater shortly after celebrating her 71st birthday. Born in Rotan, Texas to Delia and Jesse Hardin on January 19, 1951. She was raised in Rough Creek and graduated from Snyder High School in 1970. She married her husband of 28 years, Ebbin”Bud” Freeman, on May 27, 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They moved around New Mexico, Kansas, and Texas. Eventually they settled back in Rotan, Texas. Jackie, primarily a housewife, also worked various jobs at nursing homes, cleaning houses, and running errands for people around town. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and prominent fixture in the community. She will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Delia Thomson Hardin; father, Jesse Hardin; her sister, June Hardin; and her husband, Ebbin “Bud” Freeman. She is survived by her son Keith Hardin; daughter Sahala Hardin; stepdaughters, Cindy Freeman, Lisa Freeman, Jamie Freeman, and Susie Freeman; Stepson, Ebbin Freeman Jr.; grandsons Jameson Niswanger, and Logan Moreno; granddaughters Jordyn Hardin and Jazmyn McGuire; nieces, Jessica Kirby, Jara Kirby, Beverly Price, and Denise Groage.
A celebration of life memorial will be at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan, Texas on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. Her ashes will be buried at the Cottonwood Cemetery in a small ceremony at a later date.
