James Ratliff

Hermleigh- James (Richard) Ratliff, 77, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Rotan, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.
Born April 13, 1939, in Clairmont, James was the son of the late Chess and Maudie (Tatum) Ratilff. He grew up and attended schools in Clairmont and Rotan. He married the love of his life Dianna Coggins September 1, 1959, in Rotan. James was a lifelong farmer and rancher who enjoyed shelling pecans and feeding his fish. He was a real outdoors man, he loved anything to do with land. James was a Baptist.

James is preceded in death by his son, James "Jimbo" Richard Ratliff III, four brothers, Joe Ratliff, Willie Ratliff, and CD Ratliff; and three sisters, Betty Fuchs, Georgie Storie, and Christine Ratliff.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Ratliff; two daughters, Kim Knipe and husband Tracy and Teressa Standlee; daughter-in-law, Traci Ratliff Smith; sister, Myrtle Bohanan; 7 grandchildren, Blane Knipe, Taren Bedell, Aaron Ratliff, Tres Ratliff, David Ratliff, Caghan Standlee and Cade Standlee; 6 great grandchildren and his beloved Chihuahua Lucy.

Service
