Jasper Arnold Philbeck was born October 24, 1938, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, to parents, Jasper Newton and Vernie (Pryor) Philbeck. Arnold married the love of his life, Betty Bell, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on February 8, 1958. Arnold and Betty were side by side for 59 wonderful years; just 2 months shy of their 60th anniversary. Arnold owned his own water well drilling company, as well as being a dirt contractor and rancher. Arnold was an outdoorsman; he was an avid fisherman and hunter. His love of hunting is what eventually brought Jasper to Texas. About 20 years ago, Arnold discovered Texas quail hunting; he was hooked after his first trip. His new passion brought him to Texas on many occasions over the years, and about 9 years ago Arnold and Betty decided to move here permanently. Through his hunting, he eventually started raising hunting dogs and guiding his own hunts. Arnold will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Vernie Philbeck; and his sister, Betty Lou Longley.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Betty Philbeck; 2 brothers, Roger Philbeck and wife Judy and Maynard Philbeck and wife Myrtha; 1 nephew, Scott, and 2 nieces, Leanne and Laura.
