Jerry Polk

Jerry Don Polk Faithful Husband, Father, Prayer Warrior and Friend died December 19,2021 in Abilene Texas.   Visitation begins at 2:00pm. until the Funeral begins at 2:30 pm.  The Visitation and Funeral will be  Monday December 27, 2021, at  Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan and Burial will be at Roby Cemetery. Jerry was born September 14, 1943, in Fisher County. He was raised in Royston TX. He worked at the Rotan Gip mill and picked cotton. Then in January of 1966 he proudly went to serve his country in Vietnam. When he returned home, he met Judy Polk, his loving wife of 52 years. He loved to listen and dance to real country music, and racehorses. Jerry had 31-win pictures with his horses in Ruidoso NM. where he loved to go. He was a great dance partner and had a step of his own. He built three houses in University Hills, Abilene, Texas. He was Commander of the VFW Post #2012 for several years, during this time he helped many veteran Families receive their benefits. No man could have given more, done more, worked more, or cared more for his family then Jerry did. He will be greatly missed.

Jerry Polk was preceded in death by his Parents Bill and Florida Polk, Brother Billy Polk, and grandson Joseph Shadow Land.

He is survived by his Wife Judy Polk, Daughter Jalissa Polk, Granddaughter Candice Parker, (Alex), Great Grandson Alton Parker. HIs Sister and numerous nieces and nephews. Two Stepdaughters, and numerous Step Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren.

Those wishing to Honor Jerry Polk's memory may do so by praying diligently with and for their loved ones.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roby Cemetery Association, Box 304 Roby, TX.
