Jessie Moore Burleson

Jessie Marie (Horton) Moore Burleson, 96 of Roby, Texas passed away October 4, 2022. Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 7, 2022. Visitataion will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.

Jessie was born April 9, 1926 in Fisher County to the late Joe Carlton and Eulala (Hodo) Horton. She married JP Moore November 1946. JP passed away on August 23, 1986. In 1988 Jessie married Travis Burleson. He passed away June 8, 2004.

Jessie helped in the fields farming cotton and was an excellent cook. She grew vegetables, canned, was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her family.  Jessie was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She loved to dance.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; her sisters, Dean Reeves, Wanda Floyd, and Ruby Trim; and an infant daughter, Marilyn.

Jessie is survived by her children, Monroe Andrew (Andy) and wife Ann Moore of Roby, Linda Marie Sharp of Sweetwater, and Charlie Joe (Tubby) and wife Charla Moore of Rotan; six grandchildren, James Sharp, Jessica Chavira, Michael and wife Rachel Sharp, Timothy and wife Katy Moore, Amanda Vingren, and Monroe Moore II; eight great-grandchildren, Cassie and husband Robert Macias, Jasmine Chavira and fiancé Cory, Jose and wife Madison Chavira Jr., Amy and husband Alex Ireton, Anna Vingren, Julia Vingren, Lindlee Sharp and Mabry Moore; and two great-great grandchildren, James Ireton and Jose Chavira III.
