Jimmie Marks

Rotan- Jimmie L Marks, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2019, at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born September 15, 1933, in Lamesa, Texas, Jimmie was the son of the late Jess and Cleytus (McHenry) Marks. His first love was his family. He loved being “Gramps”. Jimmie’s second love was the United States Army where he served for 25 years as an E6.  He was in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Jimmie was a farmer, rancher, landscaper, mechanic, truck driver and so much more. He lived in many different places throughout his life. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law; two sons, Jimmy Dewayne, and Jerrel Ray; two brothers, Jerry Marks, and Wayne Porter.

He is survived by the love of his life for sixty-one years, Laura Mae Myers; two children, Linda Sue Scott and Sharla Gail Martinez; two sons-in-law, Carlos Martinez and Johnny Scott; two daughters-in-law Joy and CeCe; three siblings, Dortha Gunther, Sherily Nocks, and Ed Marks; thirteen grandkids; nine grands-in law; thirty-two great grandbabies; one great-great grandbaby; and numerous nieces, nephews and so many blended families that came into his life.
