John Wallace

John was the son of the late John Herman and Lura Hornbuckle Wallace. John attended school at both the Dowell Community School and Rotan High School. At the age of seventeen John entered the Army during WWII. He married June Ophelia Brazee on July 10, 1946 in Rotan. John was a farmer and owned a blacksmith and welding business. He was an avid reader and liked to garden. John was a member of the First Baptist Church and Highland Home Baptist. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters,Addie Mae Keys, Margaret Smith, and Louise Fisher, a granddaughter, Sharla Deen and a grandson, Jerry Clark Deen.

John is survived by his wife June four daughters and sonsinlaw, Linda and Jerry Deen of Rotan, Lura and Oran Payne of Cleburne, Brenda and James Goodwin of Abilene, and Barbara and Joe Barnard of Knox City two sisters and brothersinlaw, Emma Jean Brazee and Roy Adams of Hodges and Leatha and Robert Neiert of Granbury six grandchildren, Jaimie Nelson and husband Tim, Chris Nelson and wife Heather, Rusty Goodwin and wife Kerie, Melissa Ellison and husband Matthew, Kaleb Goodwin and wife Jenny and Brackston Barnard and eleven greatgrandchildren. .
