Johnny Wayne Farrar, age 86, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 24th.
Johnny was born August 8, 1937, in Roby, Texas, to Clyde Farrar and Gladys Hull Farrar. He graduated from Roby High School and West Texas State College with a Bachelor of Science. He then joined the United States Army and was a Veterinary Specialist E4. Johnny worked as a business manager for the JA Ranch in Clarendon for many years. His passion was always his family. He traveled thousands of miles to rodeos, ball games, track, cross-country and swim meets, as well as plays, choir, and band competitions. Papa was the best fan, encourager, and cheerleader anyone could have asked for.
Johnny is survived by Bonnie, his wife of 32 years. His children: Paige (Michael), Shawn (Tiki), Joe (Theresa), and Jeromy (Jennifer); eleven grandchildren: Johnathon (Brittany), Chase (Timber), Alec (Brooke), Nichole (David), Shanna (Eric), Jennifer, Tylo (Zach), William (Addison), Lane (Katherine), Zoe and Ryker, as well as 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Jo Ann Gann, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nielda Dodson.
There will be a graveside service in Roby on Wednesday, May 29th at
10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. Condolences may be sent to 6019 Belpree, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
