Born March 21, 1929, in Hamlin, Texas, Joyce was the daughter of John and Martha Bell Sammrall Barnett. She graduated from Hamlin High School, and married Gene Holcomb on November 17, 1956, in Sylvester, Texas. Gene and Joyce moved to California in 1963, where she worked as a beauty operator. The couple moved to Midland, Texas, in 1972, where Joyce worked in the Midland College Library. In 1990, they moved from Midland to Rotan. Joyce enjoyed watching Soap Operas, especially As The World Turns and The Young and the Restless. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and computer games.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Barnett her sister, Mozelle Hudson her brother, Kenneth Barnett soninlaw, David Goodrum and several Aunts and Uncles.
She is survived by her husband of fiftyeight years, Gene Holcomb of Rotan one son, Frederick Carl Ford of Rotan two daughters, Freida Goodrum of Granbury, and Martha Starek and her husband Gary of Midland stepson, Gene Perry Edwards and wife Judy of San Angel stepdaughter, Sharon Till and husband Butch of Colorado two brothers, John Barnett of San Angelo, and George Barnett of Mallakoff one sister, Carolyn Barnett of San Angelo five grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
