Larry Baker Williamson, 75, passed away at home among his family on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019, at the Church of Christ in Roby. Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2019, at the Roby Funeral Chapel directly west of the courthouse, 111 Concho Street in Roby.
Born August 1, 1944, in Roby, Texas to the late W.M. and Opal (Cleveland) Williamson, Larry was a lifelong resident of Roby and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from McMurry University in 1967. He and the love his life, Martha Faye “Marty” Terry were married in Roby on January 24, 1964. Larry was a member of the Church of Christ in Roby. He loved spending time with his family and was the biggest fan of all his kids and grand-kids. He enjoyed raising paint horses, was a creative and talented artist and served the Lord through his devotion, testimony and his writings that reminded readers to “Think about this...” in the local newspaper.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Freddy Williamson; two sisters, Ruby Louise Williamson, and Wynelle Dugan.
He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Marty; one son, Kirk and his wife Shawna Williamson; one daughter, Deena and her husband Jeff Branson; four grandchildren; Josh Williamson, Kasey and his wife Caitlin Williamson, Riley Branson and Emily Branson; two great-grandchildren, Ryker and Riggs Williamson; one sister-in-law, Janelle Williamson; several nieces, nephews and long-time friends.
