Leo Lopez, Jr, 61, of Sweetwater, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 2pm, on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 11, 2019, from 6pm until 8pm, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan; with a reading of the rosary beginning at 7pm.
Leopoldo G. Lopez, Jr was born February 8, 1957 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Leopoldo Lopez, Sr and Barbara Garcia Lopez. Leo was a great grandfather and loved spoiling his grandchildren. One of his favorite things to do was to get fruit and spending a day eating and laughing together with them. Leo was a diehard Cowboys fan and never missed a game. He not only enjoyed watching football, but any and all sports; from basketball to volleyball and everything in between. Leo also liked spending time outdoors and fishing.
Leo is survived by three children, April Mendez and husband Josue, Leo Lopez III and wife Kendra and Joseph Lopez and wife Adriana; 9 grandchildren, Cielo Quijada Mendez, Jacoby Mendez, Xavi Mendez, Kristi Lopez, Leopold Joseph Lopez IV, Katie Lopez, Krislynn Lopez, Kylee Lopez, and Kaleb Lopez; his brother, Jesus Lopez of Monterrey, Mexico; sisters, Mercedes Randolph and Catalina Walker and husband John; two nephews, Derek and Jarrod Walker; and a niece, Lucinda Randolph.
