LEONOR ROMERO LEYVA, 71, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015, in Dallas. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rotan, with burial following at Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015, at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.
Born June 7, 1943, in Rotan, Texas, Leonor was the daughter of Jesus and Cecilia (Gonzalez) Romero. She married Vicente Leyva on August 1, 1980, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rotan. Leonor worked cleaning houses, and assisted her husband in running their ranch. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was a lifelong resident of Fisher County, and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Leonor is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and six brothers.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Vicente Leyva of McCaulley; one son, Juan Leyva of Arlington; two daughters, Michelle (Romero) Hewitt and husband, Harry, of Arlington, and Leticia Leyva of Austin; one brother, Luis Romero of Rotan; five sisters, Frances Zambrano and husband, Pat, of Rotan, Julia Lewis of Snyder, Susan Almanza of Sweetwater, Dolores Garza of San Antonio, and Maria Romero Machuca of Mesquite; one grandson, William Hewitt of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
