Jonnie Hoodenpyle, 76, of Roby, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, in Abilene; with her family surrounding her with love. A celebration of Jonnie's life will be held at 10am, Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Roby. Burial will follow in the Roby Cemetery. Visitation is set for Monday, June 19, 2017, from 6pm until 8pm, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan. Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Linda Jonnie Terry Hoodenpyle was born October 25, 1940, in Rotan, to Marshall Cullen and Aline (Springfield) Terry. She married the love of her life, Jerry Dean Hoodenpyle, on June 9, 1961, in Roby. Jonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roby as well as the Roby Cemetery Association and her Pokeno playing group. Jonnie was a talented lady and brought a smile to the room when she entered. She loved quilting, playing card games, puttering in the yard and going out to eat with her friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching the Roby Lions.
Jonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Hoodenpyle; her parents, Cullen and Aline Terry; her granddaughter, Lacy Callan Gilbreath; and her grandson, Sean Hughes.
Jonnie is survived by her daughters, Linda Callan and husband, Larry of Rotan and Lisa Hughes and husband Mike of Carbon; her grandson, Sam Hughes; and her great-grandaughters, Kolby, Kayden, and Karlee.
In lieu of Flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Roby First Baptist Church, the Roby Cemetery Association, or a charity of your choice.
