Lino Yanez

Lino G. Yanez, Sr. 89, of Rotan, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2018 in Hamlin. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rotan. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. A Rosary is scheduled for Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home from 6-8 pm.
Lino was the son of, Modesto and Demetria (Garcia) Yanez. He was born in Rotan, Texas. He worked on the railroad for many years. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Lino was preceded in death by his parents, Modesto and Demetria; two sons, Lino Yanez Jr. and Louis Yanez Sr; two grandson; two granddaughters; and one great granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Genoveva Alaniz of Rotan; 3 sons, Ysidro Yanez of Overton, Armando Yanez and wife Amy of Lubbock, and David Yanez of Big Spring; 6 daughters; Mary Helen Garza of Abilene, Frances Alvarado of Roby, Janie Reyes of Rotan, Terry and husband, Ruben of Rotan, Ester and husband, Dale Bowlin of Lubbock, and Dolores and husband, Mark Basquez of Rotan; 1 daughter-in-law, Elaine Yanez of Rotan; 3 step-sons, Benito Alaniz, John Yanez and Michael Yanez; 1 brother, Santo and wife, Mary Yanez Sr. of Slaton; 1 sister, Estaphana Gonzales of El Paso; 37 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
