Lois Heffernan

LOIS LORENE (MINTON) HEFFERNAN, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at her home in Rotan. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born June 9, 1923, in Wastella, Texas, Lois was the daughter of Marvin E. and Liddie Lavine (Mullen) Minton. She married the love of her life, Jessie L. Heffernan, on April 8, 1939, in Sweetwater, Texas. A homemaker, Lois loved taking care of her family, and having the chance to watch soap operas, even getting her husband hooked on them after his retirement! She had many friends, and loved having the opportunity to visit with them. Above all, Lois loved her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Heffernan; her parents, Marvin and Liddie Minton; two brothers, Cecil Minton and James Minton; two sisters, Theta Stovall and Mabel Graham; and one half-brother, Linden Tippit.
She is survived by her son, Lyndon Heffernan and his wife, Beth, of Plano; one granddaughter, P.J. Hughes and husband, Beau; one step-granddaughter, Miranda Edson; three great-grandchildren, Trey Hughes, Logan Hughes, and Emily Heffernan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
