Born December 16, 1930, Lora was the daughter of S.J. and Lula Keener McClure. The family moved to Portales, New Mexico when Lora was in seventh grade, and to Agar, South Dakota, when she was in the twelfth grade. Lora graduated from Agar High School, and on December 10, 1954, married the love of her life, Edwin Bud Spiel, in New Castle, Wyoming. Bud and Louise settled and built their house on the Van Brocklin homestead two miles north of Parade, North Dakota, where they spent forty years together and raised their family. Although Lora was primarily a homemaker, she also worked as a storekeeper, and at the Sacred Heart Womens Shelter. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, making dolls, cooking, and upholstery. She had a beautiful voice, and loved to sing, especially hymns. In 1998, Lora moved back to Roby, and lived in Fisher County until her death. Lora was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the First Baptist Church of Roby.
Lora is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin BudSpiel her brothers, Pat McClure, Dude McClure, James McClure, and Jack McClure her sisters, Inez Neves, Elizabeth Byrd, and Jane McClure and her soninlaw, Kelly Wing.
She is survived by one son and daughterinlaw, Bryan Spiel and wife Leah, of Parade, South Dakota four daughters and two sonsinlaw, Viola Wing of Mandan, North Dakota, Brenda Packard of Nisland, South Dakota, Karen Hump and husband David of Faith, South Dakota, and Kathy Fischer and husband Darren of Eagle Butte, South Dakota one sister, Pauline Webb of Rotan nineteen grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren, greatgreatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
