Born September 8, 1925, in Liberty, Oklahoma, Louise was the daughter of Edward James and Jenny Linn Massey. She married the love of her life, James Monroe Lemons, on April 23, 1941, in Oklahoma. Louise worked as a clerk for several years, before working as a caregiver for the elderly. She moved to Roby after the death of her husband in 1983, where she joined the First Baptist Church of Roby. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, oil painting, crocheting, and camping. One of her proudest moments came at the age of 74, when Louise earned her GED. In 2012, Louise received an award for her support of military veterans.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Lemons her son, James Lemons two daughtersinlaw, Corliss Lemons and Lynnell Lemons two infant sons and an infant daughter.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Helen Elkins and husband, Calvin Merritt, of Roby, and Brenda Lee Land of Hobbs, New Mexico one son, Tony James Lemons and wife, Diana, of Terrevonne, Oregon three sisters, Wilma Arnett of Longview, Jean Bentley of Midland, and Anna Mae Baker of Longview eight grandchildren fifteen greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
