Manuel Yanez

Manuel Yanez, 81 of Rotan passed away August 19, 1922. Rosary will be 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, August 25, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rotan with burial to follow in Belvieu Cemetery.

Manuel was born May 5, 1941, in Rotan Texas to Guadalupe (Cantu) and Eluterio Yanez. He graduated from Rotan High School. Manuel severed in the United States Navy for four years. He married the love of his life, America Velez, on September 23, 1967. Manuel retired from National Gypsum after many years. He loved cooking and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He played baseball and had the privilege of coaching his daughter in softball and his son in baseball though the years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Manuel is proceeded in death by his parents; one daughter, Penny Yanez Thomas; and one brother, Felix S. Yanez.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, America Yanez; one son, Felix (Karen) Yanez; twin sister, Patsy (Lupe) Perez; four grandchildren, Stefanie, Shawn and Shane Thomas, and Chloe Yanez; three great grandchildren, Alayna Marie, Brooklyn and Nylia Thomas; sister, Lydia (Primo) Perez; four brothers, Luther (Argentina) Yanez, Jim (Susie) Yanez, Emilio Yanez, and Richard (Janie) Yanez; step-mother, Lydia Yanez; and several nieces, nephews and good friend that will miss him dearly.
