MARION FRANKLIN "FRANK" MOORE, 87, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Roby Cemetery in Roby, Texas, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan.
Born February 19, 1928, in Longworth, Texas, Frank was the son of Thomas Henry and Frankie Alverta Priscilla (Arnold) Moore. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and the United States Army during the Korean War. On December 5, 1952, he married the love of his life, Vola Ruth Ratliff, in Clovis, New Mexico. Frank worked as a gasoline and diesel mechanic, and as a policeman in Stamford, Denver City, and Seagraves. He was very handy, and could fix anything. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW, a member of the Baptist Church, and a former member of the Stamford Lions Club..
Frank is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Marion Gough; eight sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vola Moore of Stamford; two daughters, Dee Dawn McCormick and husband, Mark, of Dalhart, and Jennifer Price and husband, Steve, of Big Spring; one brother, Troy Hollis Moore of Slaton; one sister, Lynn Coley of Bixby, OK; five grandchildren, Jason Price and wife, Paige, Leighanna Barnes and husband, Ryan, Cori Matsakis and husband, Louie, Casey McCormick and wife, Brittany, and Holly Price; seven great-grandchildren, and one on the way, Michael, Nicholas, Maia, Gabe, Ava, Sofia, Mason, and Wyatt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of great friends.
