Matt waged a long war with leukemia which he battled most valiantly. His will to fight and positive attitude never wavered. His inner strength inspired everyone around him, and not only in his last days. The joy he brought to others throughout his life is a great legacy for such a young man.
Matt was not given to wasting time. He loved his work as a Master Certified Diesel Technician. Having a passion for engines since childhood, he was ASE Automotive Service Excellence certified in many automotive areas and recognized for his expertise. When not working, Matt enjoyed hunting and camping, and was especially partial to mud bogging and grilling. Surpassing all of this, however, was his passion for time spent together with the love of his life and soulmate, Katrina Littlefield. Matt is preceded in death by his grandfather, David Dick Daniel Gruben.
Matt leaves behind the love of his life, Katrina Littlefield his father Rickey Gruben and his wife Tracy of Royston his mother Karen Dickson and husband Joe of Santa Fe, TX two brothers, Daniel Gruben and his fianc Heather McGuire and Will Gruben and his wife Alicia two stepbrothers, Shawn and Steven Dickson of Lawton, OK two stepsisters, Jennifer Wilicutt and Karen Dailey grandparents, Carroll and Bilie Anne Taylor of Bryan, TX and Peggy Gruben of Royston, TX numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
