Mattie Hilton

Mattie Eloise (McKeehan) Hilton passed away October 31, 2020, in Lubbock. The family will have a visitation on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan, Texas. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, in Jayton Cemetery in Jayton, Texas, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born November 17, 1944 in Jayton, Texas, Mattie was the daughter of the late Omah and Arsina (Rackley) McKeehan.  She attended school in Jayton and worked many years for the Texas Bollweevil program and later became the Justice of Peace for Kent County. She married the love of her life, Lewie Hilton on March 3, 1964 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was a Baptist.  Mattie loved her family and grandkids and was their biggest supporter.  She was also an avid fan of The Dallas Cowboys.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, B.M. McKeehan; five sisters, Arene Laughlin, Maxine Schuler, Lorene Vinson, Ann Tagle, and Sue DelaCruz.

She is survived by two daughters, Stacy Burchett (Kevin), and Tina Lytle; five grandchildren, Stephanie Burchett, Tyler Burchett, Sheldon Burchett, Madison Lytle, and Colton Heath; and one Great-Grandchild, Aiden Laird, and one on the way, Asher Burchett.
