Mitchell Templeton

Mitchell Templeton, 77, of Hobbs passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in Big Spring. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 7, 2017, in Hobbs Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home, in Rotan.
Mitchell Dwain Templeton was born January 4, 1940, in Rotan, to Leslie and Ollie Daisy (Patrick) Templeton. He and his family moved to Hobbs in 1941. Mitchell is a graduate of Hobbs High School. He bravely served his country when he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1961 and was active until 1963. Mitchell worked as a farmer for a large part of his life; farming mostly around the Hobbs area. Mitchell was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ollie Daisy Templeton; two sisters, Imogene Taggart and Johnnie Stapleton; and one brother, Haskell Templeton.
Mitchell is survived by his daughter, Leslie Morgan; two grandchildren, Jessica Morgan and Dylan Morgan; and one great-grandchild, Gavin Morgan.
