Don (Donno) Hull, 71, of Rotan, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 in Scurry County. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Rotan First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 6pm until 7pm, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Phillip Donald Hull was born December 25, 1946 in Rotan, TX, to John Lafayette and Eula Mae (Reep) Hull. Don was a 1965 Hobbs High School graduate. He married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Campbell, on December 27, 1966, at the Hobbs Baptist Church. After high school he attended Angelo State University until 1969 when he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Viet Nam. After Don was discharged, He and Shirley moved back to Rotan. Don was hired on with National Gypsum we he worked for a few years. He left National Gypsum and started farming cotton in the area and continued farming for the majority of his life. Sometime around 1998, Don began driving a truck; and for about the next 10 years hauled everything from milk to crude oil all over the country. Don was a sports fan and enjoyed watching football. Don was a very caring man that would do anything to help someone that needed it. He adored his family; they were the most important thing in his life. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents J. L. and Eula Mae Hull.
Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Hull of Rotan; his daughter, Shannon Hull, of San Angelo; his son, Phillip Hull and wife Amy, of Mt. Morris, PA; his grandchildren, Jessica Dunlap and husband Steven, of Odessa, Jonathan and Jaydon Kennedy, of San Angelo, Austin and Dallas Minor, of Mt. Morris, PA, Payton Hull of Mt. Morris, PA, and Gage and Grace Hull of Brock, TX; great-grandchild, Casey Dunlap, of Odessa; his brother, Mike Hull and wife Debbie, of Rotan; his sisters, Reva Jo Harbin, of Anson, Brenda Oliver and husband Wylie of Ira, TX, Cathy Thomson and husband Perry Paul, of Anson; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project, in Don's honor.
